Mount Dora known as the "New England of the South," is located off US-441, 30 miles northwest of Orlando and 80 miles east of Tampa. Along with Eustis and Tavares, Mt Dora is one of the three historic lakefront Golden Triangle communities, located in the Chain of Lakes. The Chain of Lakes includes seven large bodies of water and rivers that connect to the St. Johns River and to Silver Springs. The community resembles a New England community with nearly thirty historic buildings along a three-mile route.
